Announcing Hamilton County Teachers Talk

Teachers of Hamilton County, over the past year, I've heard a lot of stories that I think our community would benefit from also hearing. Unfortunately, I know a great many of you feel unable to speak publicly, due to the fear that you, your families, your schools or your students will be targeted for harassment by Moms For Liberty or other, similar anti-public-education activists. I'm hoping to help give you a voice via the newly added Teachers Talk page.

Here's how it works.

1. Get in touch

Use a personal email to either send me a message via the Contact page on this site, or email me at info@carmelschoolsdad.com. Please include your name and the school you teach at.

2. Verify your identity

Once you've reached out, I will send a unique, 10-digit code to your official school email address. Simply use your personal email address to send your code back to me and your identity will be verified. If you're not comfortable using your school email address to receive a message, let me know in your initial message. I am happy to set a time to meet in person at a local library or coffee shop for you to verify your identity and personal email address.

Note that once I've verified your identity, I will delete my record of your name and school. The only information I will keep will be your personal email address and whether you teach at the elementary, middle or high school level.

3. Send your comments

Whatever thoughts, opinions or experiences you'd like to share with the community, simply send them to me from the email address you verified. To help keep things productive and organized:

  • Please attempt to keep any individual submission to 300 words or less.

  • Please only submit once per month.

  • Please do not include details that would allow any student or parent to be identified.

  • Please only name individuals if you are responding to comments or actions they have taken publicly. That is, it would be acceptable to name an individual if you wanted to react to comments they made publicly on social media or at a public meeting. It would not be acceptable to name them and share details of their private lives.

That's all there is to it. When I receive your comments, I will share them anonymously on the Teachers Talk page of this site and via social media.

Lastly, THANK YOU for all that you do for our children and our community. Never let the agitators convince you that the loudness of their voices is an indicator of the popularity of their opinions.
